As the son of a Drill Supervisor, Juan Ferrer enjoyed a childhood around exploration drill locations in southern Venezuela. Juan Ferrer received his degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Metropolitana in 1981. In 1982, Juan initiated his professional career as a Field Engineer in the Mega Hydroelectric Project of Guri Dam (Drainage and Grouting Curtain). This experience gave him the knowledge to establish Perforaciones Caroni in 1986, together with his father and younger brother.
As President of the company, between 1986 to 2010, Juan worked on contracts mainly in Geotechnical Drilling, Mining Exploration, and Water Wells, in Venezuela and Colombia. In 1987, ROTOPERCA was established to overcome issues in supplying Diamond Bits to remote areas. To this day, Juan Ferrer is still a member of the Board of Directives for both Companies.
Since his move to the United States in 2010, Juan Ferrer has worked for several well-known Drilling companies (Geotechnical, Diamond, RC and Sonic Drill Rigs), as a part of technical support and equipment design staff.
